The first time we went through the night without sound machines I ordered this right away. The next week we had another big storm and I was able to grab this and get the batteries in and ready for bed right away. The sound is clear and the volume adjustment is very easy. If his room is silent every creak and groan disrupts him, and he then ends up knocking on our bedroom door complaining.    I think that I purchased this 3 mos ago and it works. It cancels out outside noise. I have a problem with my thin glass windows where you can hear all the traffic go by. I was having the worst time trying to sleep with all the noise. This is a lifesaver so far. It's little but quite loud and has 6 sound options. I use this with the combination of an air purifier, eye mask, melatonin, and magnesium to get a deep sleep. Sometime I add sleepy time tea for extra comfort. This little machine is pretty good, I like it. I hope it last. Best of luck!

I ordered this also because I recently went to Europe for 20 days and didn't sleep at all! This machine is also portable so I could have had it with me. I set this on the "rain" sound and turn it about a third of the way up because I'm hard of hearing. I love it!! It put's me right to sleep and I'm able to sleep all night.
