Only down side is you have to clean it all the time. And the light is very bright, the two brightness settings I don't think work on mine because both seem exactly the same brightness, no big deal for me. But I was very surprised when 2 nights later I noticed that the barrage of bugs that normally would attack our porch lights was alot thinner. We don't have to fight them when we open the door to go in or out now! The light itself screws into a regular light socket and its also got this nifty feature where you can control the brightness of the light by flipping the light switch on and off. And even if you have it on one of the dimmer setting, it still does its job. Although I like the pretty blueish purple light so we always keep it on bright. But this was a well made bug zapper that works just as it should and also has some awesome features. This is an investment you won't regret especially if you live out in the sticks like I do.
