Make the knife razor sharp in no time, if really bad maybe 3-5 cycles and only need curing 1-2 times or just a few times through a ceramic grinder. Sharpen almost all kitchen knives in an hour, maybe 12-16 knives.

I had to figure out how to get the chef's biggest knife to slide all the way into the groove, and sure enough, the knife was so long it took several turns to sharpen--the machine slowed down and stopped pretty quickly. . But pressing the power button is easy to do and better less when it comes to good knife maintenance. Overall this grinder is great
