She has it on her nightstand, it gives off a nice ambient glow, but is also bright enough for her to read by. There are a ton of options with this lamp too, from several choices of a natural light, to every color and shade of the rainbow you can imagine! There are tons of patterns to pick from too, you can even set it to pulse with your music. There is a really cool one we call the "firework" where a colored light travels up the stem and then sort of explodes into different colors! It is controlled with an app you can download to your phone, but there is a switch on the cord that offers control as well, like dimming or brightening and cycling through the RGB options.
