Have only used in moist soil. It can remove a plug of soil sometimes that has to be removed - no problem really.
i would recommend it to anyone who struggles to bend down and pick up weeds....i cannot speak highly enough of it !!
It is wonderfully made and just works. It easily pulls dandelions including their deep roots.
