I think these types of collars are last resort. They're very dangerous. I suggest not walking your dog the first day with it. Walk the dog around the house, because otherwise the dog will get stressed, and pull even harder trying to take it off. It did help, but I also use a no pull harness to relieve pressure from the neck. Definite life saver, but as an absolute last line. Use responsibility, and I'm sure there's a YouTube video about using it safely.

He would pull us so bad, to where we'd all be in horrible moods after the walk. It was honestly awful! Now, my 15yr old and 12 yr old love taking him on walks, and it's no longer a fight to get them to take him. Definitely worth the money!
