   “This is a really dirty experiment! Now we are real geologists!” Says my 4 year old boy. I was able to whack it on the counter to break the brick in half so each kid got half. They were so excited and this kit did not disappoint. It will occupy them for a while but not so long that they lose interest. Yes this is a dusty, dirty activity but my kids thought it was very fun and learned a lot. I used cookie sheets to contain most of the mess and it was a quick cleanup. If the dirt is a little too hard and dry, put a bit of water on and it will really start to chisel away for the younger kids who maybe lacking a bit in the patience department. Next up, I will buy the fossil version. Can not recommend enough for any kid of almost any age who is interested in history, digging, rocks, fossils, etc.

   Bought this for 6yr old grandson. He loved it. Enjoyed ‘treasure hunting' for each stone and trying to figure out which one it was. I also gave him a beginner rock tumbler to polish them. Tumbler is loud but he liked comparing the before/after look and texture. Great gift.
