Plug and Play Technology Door assembly is completed in less than 10 minutes (no complicated wiring or wiring required). Battery-powered minimum battery life of 3 years that works in all conditions (includes 2xAA battery, can be replaced in 3 minutes, no solar panel required).

Easy-to-use and easily programmable pushbutton. It opens automatically in the morning and closes in the evening. You can set a timer or use the built-in (LUX) optical sensor.

Automatic poultry doors, like batteries, can withstand high and low temperatures. The battery comes in a waterproof case, so you can go out on cold or warm days and use it for a year. Easy installation, the package includes 6 screws and 2 AA batteries

The only thing to be aware of is that in colder climates, you need to keep an eye on 1. the door freezing up if rain/ sleet hits it and 2. the battery levels. Use reputable batteries, not the dollar tree kind. Try to prevent wet snow from getting on the door as it freezes overnight and can keep door from opening in morning. If that happens, pour warm water around the door and it will open when you push the little button. We love our door but it's not 100% foolproof! Nothing is when you live in the mountains! You still have to be aware and check on your chicken babies each morning!
