The pineapple is definitely smaller where the opening is. He can take it off pretty easily but he doesn't try. He uses it as a pillow while wearing it. He actually loves it. He hasn’t attempted to lick/bite the wound on his paw at all, so it’s healing nicely. I was relieved to see that he appears comfortable and even falls asleep by using this “toast collar” as a pillow. Some animals may still be able to reach their wounds depending on the location, but my cat has not been able to do so.
