However, turning those beans into a cold brew has become a mission. I cannot just buy decaf cold brew so I must make it myself. This pitcher makes that not only possible, but easy! Instead of soaking the very coarse grounds for 18 hours then attempting to filter through a coffee filter for eons, this thing has that done for you in no time at all. It makes enough for at least 3 days (I also drink a hot cup in the morning) as the resulting cold brew is a concentrate. BUY IT. The filter is amazing and the whole thing is easy to use.

I pour my coffee before work (3am) but don't clean and refill till I get home(2pm) it recommends 12-24 hours so it comes out a bit weak for my taste so I'm gonna purchase a second one soon and have them rotating. Its perfect, wish I had found this sooner to save my money from purchasing from my local coffee shop... 1lb of coffee will make about 4-6 of these pots of coffee. So it's worth it! Another plus note is that I feel for cold brews I don't have to put as much sugar in my coffee as I do for hot or even iced coffee! Bonus healthier!

    Awesome product. I grind my own whole coffee beans using a blender which gets it just right for cold brewing. I fill up the filter so that the grounds are half an inch below the white part of the filter (when looking from outside). I find it's better to slowly pour the water directly into the filter rather than the basin. If you fill the basin first and then dunk the filter in, the grounds will float up. By pouring directly into the filter the grounds get pre-soaked and will stay under the water surface (it also makes measuring the amount of water automatic). My friends and coworkers have been raving about my cold brewing skills...but it's really SUPER EASY! Wish I've done this earlier.

I love iced coffee but do not like all the hassle of a traditional plug-in-socket coffee maker and this product is so quick and convenient - very little forethought required apart from preparing 12 hours before desired drink. The coffee grounds literally sit inside the "pitcher filter" like a tea bag but for coffee grounds. The iced coffee can stay in the refrigerator for as long as two weeks before turning rancid and bitter tasting - hallmarks of coffee that goes bad.

Tip: DO NOT FORGET this makes CONCENTRATE! Hubby and I were both climbing the walls the first week before we remembered we needed to dilute it. I now make it with 24 heaping tbl of grounds (we have the large size) and top off a 1 gal jug with water after filling, seems to be a good level of dilution for us. The pieces of the top can be hard to thread but the whole thing comes apart and runs through the dishwasher nicely (I hand wash the filter basket though)

You can not just put the filter in the bottle then screw the lid on. (Made that mistake and had coffee grounds everywhere in the coffee because the filter was not sealed) finally watched a video and done it correctly and it worked amazing. No leaks or anything. I left it in the fridge for 12 hours, put ice in a cup, turned the lid twice to open it, poured it in(no leaks) added what I wanted to it, BAM awesome coffee. Really really love this item.

It takes two cups of grounds per pot and lasts two of us ~3 days. Before this, we would make a pot of coffee every day, using approximately one cup of coffee every day. Since it's not sitting on the heat, it tastes much fresher even a few days later. It's easier to clean than a french press, and probably on par with a drip coffee pot. In the morning I transfer the brewed coffee to another container and then brew another batch with the same grounds. When second batch is done, I pour that I to same container as the first batch. Perfect strength for my tastes. Container and filter are both easy to clean. I also like the fact that the top screws on so of the pitcher would happen to tip over in refrigerator there won't be a mess.
