My head, in the helmet, actually bounced off the sidewalk and there's not a scratch on the helmet and after a CT scan, no problems and no concussion. Without the helmet, I may not even have survived. It allows plenty of airflow, I've used it on some very hot rides (100+ degrees) and it wasn't any hotter than wearing my baseball cap. I've been fortunate to not really put it to the test yet, but it feels strong despite being lightweight. I have no doubt that it will protect my head if the need arises.
