I bought this as a gift for my 12 year old who loves healthy smoothies and frozen fruit treats. This is a simple set up, and very easy and safe for her to use. Frozen fruits, with no added sugars or additives, come out very creamy like a gelato or sorbet depending on the fruit she uses. The only downside - it is super loud...like will. wake the dead loud.

This is a pretty amazing machine. I cannot explain how skeptical I was of the Yonana. I also can't explain just how wrong I was. The machine works better than I could have ever imagined. I actually find the end product to be more like ice cream than some of the low-fat ice creams you buy in the store. It is delicious. The fact that you can have desert without any added sugar and fat is just total bonus.

I use this product to make frozen banana and/or frozen banana + black berry "ice cream!" It's a safe, healthy alternative to ice creams you see in the grocery store, plus the "Yonanas" ice cream tastes better as well! This product is EXTREMELY easy to install, EXTREMELY easy to use and EXTREMELY easy to clean up! Yes....some of the "ice cream" gets "stuck" inside the spinner but not a big deal. You have to take the machine apart for cleaning afterwards, anyways, and it's just a small scooping of the spoon to get all the extra "ice cream" out and into your bowl! ;-) I find that it's best if I use TWO frozen bananas. (Note: If you only use ONE frozen banana, most of the banana gets stuck in the machine part, but if you use TWO, it helps to push out all the banana from machine into your bowl!) Put each banana in the microwave (one at a time, not together) for about 15-20 seconds. Then you can use a knife to easily peel off the banana skin. Then place a frozen banana in machine and GENTLY push down with the pusher piece. Then put in the 2nd frozen banana into machine and GENTLY push down with the pusher piece. DON'T try to force it, as it'll all just get stuck in the machine if you do. If you make frozen banana + black berry "ice cream", it's best if you put in one frozen banana, then place a few blackberries in between, then quickly follow up with the 2nd frozen banana. TASTES EXCEPTIONAL! I LOVE this product and use it almost EVERY SINGLE DAY! ;-) P.S.: for fast, effective clean up of machine afterwards, use ICE COLD WATER and the sink sprayer.....hot water just makes the natural fruit sugar STICK for some reason, while cold water washes it away almost immediately!

Easy to use, easy to clean and the first time I tasted one bowl of soft serve bananas I was so surprised at how good it was my mind started racing with different ways to use it and different flavor combinations. In my first bowl I stirred in a drop of pure vanilla extract, a pinch of cinnamon and a couple of chopped pecans, sooo good. I thought about adding soft serve fruit to plain yogurt instead of high calorie fruit on the bottom yogurt, freezing almond or coconut milk and sending it through the machine with frozen bananas that was even more creamy. My favorite, I put pineapple strips that I buy freshly cut and freeze them then send them through the yonanas without any bananas with frozen orange slices and/or other frozen citrus fruit and I get a frozen sherbet taste with no sugar, I have even added it to light lemonade and diet sprite to make a "frappe" or sherbet punch. I also like the idea of surprising each person in the family with their own special flavor based on flavors I know they like. Endless ideas this is perfect for me I love all fruit and I love icey cold deserts and drinks and it's fast and a lot less sugar and no bad additives. Banana Pudding whip anyone?? frozen bananas with vanilla wafers or ginger snaps and lite cool whip.

This is a small, lightweight appliance that is absolutely worth buying. I am in love with what it can do! It will take slightly-thawed fruit and turn it into a creamy and delicious frozen snack, minus the addition of fattening cream and added sugar. I just got it and so am waiting impatiently for my bananas to turn "cheeta" so I can freeze them. But in the meantime I got a bag of frozen banana berry blend, a bag of frozen cherries, and a mixed fruit/cucumber blend. I've made different combos, all yummy. Yes, the unit makes noise, but nothing intolerable (and I don't tolerate noise very well). Yes, there is some finished product inside that needs to be scooped, but it's super easy to take it apart to get what didn't come out. It's very easy to clean, although I've only hand-washed so I can't say how it would do in a dishwasher. Since I've only had it for a few days, I can't testify as to the durability. One of my concerns is the blades and whether they'll stand the test of time. I hope so!! Not sure if there are parts available from the manufacturer, again I hope so! I can't wait for the grandchildren to come visit so I can wow them with my new "ice cream" maker. Mmm, pies, and ice cream sandwiches, and ice cream cake, and did I mention it comes with a fabulous recipe book? All in all, I give this two thumbs up!

I already had bananas and strawberries frozen in anticipation of the arrival of my Yonanas so I used it immediately. Within 30 minutes of eating the first bowl of bananas/strawberries, I went to the Yonanas website (Amazon was sold out) and ordered 4 more for my kids! One frozen banana and 3/4 cup of frozen strawberries made a pretty big bowl that my husband and I shared. All 4 kids have reported that they are blown away with this - they absolutely love it! My youngest has an 8 yr old and a 2 yr old who ask for the “ice cream” every night after dinner and she’s happy to comply because she knows it’s healthier than sugar-infused store-bought ice cream. She said she tried frozen peaches which she didn’t care for but the kids loved it. Other reviews mentioned the wasted product that sticks inside but I found that to be no big deal. It was just a small amount and was easy to scrape into the bowl. Also saw some complaints about the noise - again, no big deal - it only takes a minute or two to make a bowl so I can put up with it. It’s no louder than a blender. All in all, I love this machine, my kids and grandkids love it, and I would recommend it all day long!

This is frozen love in cylindrical form! I almost let some of the reviews deter me from ordering this - thank frozen bananas that I didn't. From the first night we unpackaged this someday family heirloom we have loved it. I've read reviews about how this isn't "real soft serve ice cream" - duh - stands to reason if you put frozen fruit into it, the end result is going to be a form of frozen fruit and that it's loud - another duh - it's going to make some noise chopping/blending frozen fruit into the creamy goodness that has become one of our favorite treats ever! I used to like to have ice cream in the evening a couple nights as week but age and desire to seek healthier alternatives steered me in this direction. It's not any louder than a blender so no worries there. It's easy to use and easy to clean. Experiment with your favorite frozen fruits. We like bananas, strawberries and blueberries generally but have tried frozen peanut butter, frozen chocolate bits mixed in, frozen creamer -- it's all good. Be creative, have fun and thank the geniuses at Dole for an amazing product! Stop reading here, order the Yonana and thank me as you watch your movie with creamy frozen joy i a bowl!

This liittle machine is easy to use, doesn't take up much room and is super easy to clean. It turns your fruit into a sherbet in the matter of 2 minutes. It is really amazing. I'm on a plant based diet with no processed foods and this little machine satisfies my urge for ice creamy type things. The things that are different from the store bought is that the sherbet comes out in thin strips and as others have mentioned much is left inside the machine. But with that said there is no waste you just have to get a spoon and get in the area of the machine where it did not get forced out into the cup and that is very simple to do. I don't mind at all, again no waste at all of your fruit. I have never tried banana because I use them in other foods for sweeteners but I do mix together apple, pineapple, blueberries, strawberries, grapes, mandarin's, melons, cauliflower (yes cauliflower), mango. Yes many fruits. Sooooo if you do not want to buy processed sherbets this little machine is perfect for you. Also, I just do single serving whenever I want it.

I was a little skeptical, but was actually quite impressed. I love bananas and anyone who tries this must also like bananas as they are the foundation of nearly every recipe. My favorite recipe is banana, vanilla yogurt, sweet dark cherries, and a little bit of chocolate hazelnut spread like Nutella. Yum!!!! If you're watching your waistline, this can be an excellent way to still have those cold soft serves but full of fruit instead of fat and added sugar. They say the added fiber of fresh fruits tends to offset sugars because it takes more calories to try to digest fibrous foods. Yeah!!!! What you can create with this little machine is only limited by your imagination and the fact that just about everything needs to be frozen first. The good part is that you can buy frozen fruit in your grocer's freezer isle, so its not like you have to work to have frozen fruit. LOL A great little machine!!
