This Magnetic Alignment Camber Gauge measures the Camber and Caster angle on the wheel hub or brake disc and allows adjustment to maintain correct wheel alignment and even tire wear.

This is a useful tool to maintain the correct Camber setting after dismantling and re-assembling of the suspension. This tool measures the Camber and Caster angle on the wheel hub or brake disc and allows adjustment to maintain correct wheel alignment and even tire wear.

How to use:

Remove the four-wheel positioning sensor (fixture), remove the tire.
Suck the Magnetic Gauge on the side of the brake wheel carefully.
Adjustment the Magnetic Gauge to zero.
Install on the required positioning of special parts.
Use special tools to adjust the positioning parts to the required measurement angle, with the help of the Magnetic Gauge degree.
If you find a little deviation when you retest, just need to fine-tuning at the bottom of the car(Generally a little deviation does not cause positioning failure).

Although I haven't gotten to use the Caster function, the Camber is easy to read and feel confident about with repeatable measurements within 1/4 of a degree or so. (IMOP, this tool beats the electronic equipment used by poorly trained, unmotivated, or inattentive persons at the tire shop any day. If a hub adapter is not available or you have aluminum wheels, you can use an old spindle nut and tack weld large washers to it, or even epoxy them to make the adapter you need.

If you are sick of busting your galoones looking for a shop that "will do you a favor and not really do what they say" GET This unit ...It's neat! I've corrected Camber and Caster easily on so many old vehicles. If the vehicle has a castellated nut on the front wheel bearing it's a piece of cake . I've done 40's, 50's 60's cars from Chevy to Cadillac..Sure some are tuff to actually make the adjustments due to the design but these units tell you where you are. Can't believe how great many of these old vehicles go down when you made the necessary adjustments but you will have to get your hands dirty. Note: vehicle will usually tend to go to the side with the MOST NEGATIVE Caster. So if the right specs is a bit negative it may tend to keep the vehicle straigh due to the crown in the road.

Also make sure to calibrate on a vertical surface with a spirit level before use.I am fortunate with my old Audi 100 as the strut top mounts are adjustable for camber. I also recommend that your tracking be checked if any camber work has been done as altering camber will also change toe.Good value but fully read the instructions.

This is an extremely well made tool! Well worth what I paid here. This and some linoleum tiles put me in business of doing my own alignment checks. It's sad but I can take my SUV to 3 different shops, all with the most accurate and expensive laser systems, and leave with 3 different alignments. Non of them even close to OEM specs. Results are repeatable as far as I can tell, and I was able to fix a nasty pull my truck had by getting the camber back in spec (it was out by over a degree, thanks previous owner!). Caster is measured by turning the wheel, zeroing the gauge, then turning it the other way. The end (opposite the magnet) is tapered for you to align with the side of the vehicle to get that +- 20* that you're supposed to for caster if you don't have the appropriate floor plates. Design features like that tell me that whoever designed this has actually used it for the intended purpose.
