Otherwise, in the winter I can use it with just the leash which I can clip onto jeans etc. I love that it has a lot of give to the leash, if I'm walking and don't know my dog is stopping, it has good stretch. My dog walks very well on the leash so sometimes it's a bit long, but I can hold the shorter loop on it to keep it from dangling or pull him out of the road when a car is coming by. When I first received this belt, I was a little worried since it is heavier than the standard belt I was using, but the benefits definitely outweighed the increase in weight.The belt It has a separate compartment for your phone, a second small compartment, which I used to hold poop bags, and place for a water bottle. I didn't use the water holder for my run, but I could totally see using it for a hike with my dog. The elastic/ bungee cord part of the leash was great - my dog didn't feel like he was tethered to me on such a tight leash. I also kept the belt loose enough in case I needed to shift the leash from my right side to left side during the run.With the leash, I ran further and faster than I usually do. This is pretty handy to store treats and bags and other things in when you walk. I also like that you can be hands free and run with your dog. That being said, the leash is a bit springy. Even though it's shorter, it's got quite a bit of elastic stretch and length. If your dogs aren't well trained at loose walking (mine aren't- they're puppies), you'll probably have to hold the leash at times to keep them in line. On the other hand, I used to run with my greyhound and the spring might be good for when she got going really fast and I didn't. A non-springy leash would lead to an abrupt pull and a tumble. I don't have to worry about that with these short legged creatures.This is shown with an attachment (sold separately) which gives it even more length to walk two dogs at once, but the fanny pack also has extra clips on it where you could clip additional leashes, which probably makes more sense. When I walked just one dog, it still had some give.Overall, I really like this leash and will probably keep on using it.
