   I (admittedly) am not the sharpest blade in the drawer when it comes to optics. But I am a pretty good judge of quality. I can tell you that this monocular is very well constructed and has a very good weight in the hand; this alone surprised me considering the low price. I use it, primarily, for bird watching and if I were forced to mention one con it would be a bit of shakiness...however in doing my research on similar products, this appears to be fairly common. If this becomes a big issue for you, it's easy enough to devise some kind of support for stabilization. All in all, for the price you can't go wrong.

   I like this product a lot and use it often. It smells like a petroleum product out of the box and it took weeks for the smell to dissipate. Something about the plastic or a solvent used lingers and stinks up the room where the scope sits between uses. The smell also transfers to one's hands when used. If one has a fear of solvents and the biological affect on a human or animal etc. do not buy this product. Other than than the smell it is a very good product and a good value. I use it often for target practice and see very sharp fine details at 20 to 30 feet. It is also fine for longer distances.

   If you're stargazing etc, works well however it's not the reason I got it. I'm blind in one eye and have very diminished vision in the other.    Great little monocular for the price. This thing gives a crisp picture in the center of the image. Edges get a little blurry. Much better than the usual cheap optics that have distortion and blurriness that render the image unusable. Single magnification. There is a coarse focus on the main barrel. Fine focus is achieved with turning the eyepiece. You can get the fine focus back into the middle of it's range by turning the coarse focus a little.

Recently took it to the beach and enjoyed watching some humpback whales.It does get blank and dark sometimes and needs re adjusting to see clearly again. For the price, I am quite satisfied.

   I've ordered several of these over the past year or so and we have all loved them. My family (boys) are prone to misplacing or losing items, letting friends borrow items to never see again, so the price is perfect. I don't understand the reviews where others are downgrading the monocular. We have all felt they are outstanding for the price, thus, here I am again to purchase more. Excellent in my opinion!! Wish it had night vision and that is the only con that I could come up with.
