Up close, they have dark brown/black specks that add additional character so that they are not just a flat color. They were also packaged very well so there is no worry of them being broken in transit.

   My wife picked this set of modern vases and we're so glad that she did! Upon unboxing, we immediately noticed the excellent craftsmanship. They are very well made! The modern design, although not unique to vase sets, is uniform in symmetry. We purchased a very similar set years ago and there was no symmetry to them. It looks like they were hand-made late afternoon on a Friday. These appear to be PERFECT! A truly beautiful set at a very affordable price. My wife already has plans to visit our local big-box craft store tomorrow morning in order to find the right decorative inserts for them.
