In fact, I plugged a provided table lamp into the adapter plug so I could use the single nearby outlet for that AND charging multiple devices at the same time. First off I liked that this product allowed me to charge multiple devices at once. It works really well and would work with EU plugs especially in France where the outlets are recessed. As you can see from the 2nd picture above the plug compensates for that so it fits comfortably into the socket. Charging time is noticeably faster than the previous version. The only reason I liked the previous version more is because it came with a travel case. I would have paid a little extra for a case to be included with the plug.I recommend this product.

I purchased this international adapter about a month ago. I travel quite a bit and used it domestically just for the 2 port USB so that I could charge multiple devices at a time. I just got back yesterday on a trip to Australia and even though I have a couple of converters and adapters we used this one mainly because it was so small and durable. The adapter worked flawlessly. I especially like that the prongs lock into place until I'm done with it and then can push the release button on the side so it slides back in and locks inward to.
