They're lightweight and they fall over easily enough the little ones don't get frustrated at missing. The balls are a little hard to hold as the finger holes are pretty shallow. But they held them with both hands so it was ok. I wouldn't recommend for kids over 8-9 as they're probably too little kid for those ages. But the younger ones really had fun. A very cute set

The vacation home we rented had hard floors throughout, so it was easy to find a space where we could set this up, the girls could roll the ball from quite a distance and Nana could sit next to the pins and be the "re-setter" each time. Kept all of us busy for quite awhile without exhausting Nana! Parents enjoyed getting a break! They were plenty sturdy and stood up fine on the tile and on an area that had low pile indoor/outdoor carpet. The ball rolled fine. Love that the set comes in its own little drawstring bag - easy to pack and store for next time.
