It took all of about a half hour from start to finish. I first removed the old screws with my cordless, then with a putty knife cut through the rubber caulk pulled the old unit out disconnected the plumbing hoses. Next I cleaned the surface to make ready for installation of the new unit. I Then applied caulking tape to the back side of the outer flange, hooked up the hoses to the proper connections on the rear, removed the paper from the caulking tape, placed the unit in the hole and screwed the screws back into their original holes. lastly I used a clear silicone around the outside for a nice clean install. The only thing I needed to buy was the caulking tape and clear silicone for a total of about $16.00. Don't forget to turn your water on to check for leaks before screwing the unit into place.

I have not yet installed the outdoor shower assembly. After taking it out of the box, i found it to be of high quality, and appears that it will go the distance. I chose this unit because it does not have the opening in the top for the hose to slide into; you simply wind the hose around the faucet before you close the lid. Some like the disappearing hose trick. I would rather have the unit sealed to avoid an air leak and/or insect egress. Your call, but if you want a sealed unit, this one's pretty sweet.

Just cut a hole the appropriate size, built a wooden frame for the screws the "grab onto," and used putty tape on the exterior mounting surface. I was able to fit mine under the bathroom sink, so my water connections were right there. Sharkbite fittings worked fine but I underestimated how rigid that PEX tubing is. Plan accordingly.

I did have to provide my own butyl tape to seal behind the flange and weather proof caulking for the exterior.
