The only downside MIGHT be that the gears will fail, so I kept the box and foam pads for storage. I "park" the top part directly over the base and put it into the box. It's done a fantastic job for both those tasks. I love the removable filter on the back. I use compressed air to clean the filter every few weeks. The only downside for me is that the power button markings are rubbing away from just being turned on and off. I highly recommend this little heater.
