   I work in metal fabrication. I have quite few Irwin tools. Quick clamps, vice grips, pliers, but the square I'm not a 100% sold on. My 12" square slides nice and my 6" and 16" do not. Even after a couple drops of oil. It seems to catch a little. I hope over time they slide better.

   I have quite a few combination square. They all do what they are supposed to. When I saw this Irwin combination square I like the big characters and the price is quite good. When I got it delivered I immediately found the differences. It's solid, heavy and and easy to read with big, sharp characters. When you lock the screw, the ruler does not move and stay put even if you drop it. I love it so much that I order the 12 in and soon will buy the 16 in too
