   My closets were small in the first place and seem to get smaller every year. So I'm always on the lookout for things that help me use their space more efficiently. An example is these clothes hanger drop loops. I was favorably impressed by them immediately upon opening the box. They appear to be made of good steel with almost no potential to bend, the finish is smooth and pleasant, and they fit many—but by no means all—hangers. Do they work? Well, they're simple and effective for what they are, but they don't create a lot of space, in my experience. Maybe 10-15% improvement. They also complicate getting clothes on and off the hangers. But if you're desperate to maximize your closet space—as i am—they may be worth looking into.
