   When operating at its top speed, the noise level is elevated. I did not find it to be an issue. I am using this in my studio. When I am working, the television is on, or I am listening to music. When you couple that with the noise produced by my electronic cutting machines, I doubt I would ever hear the chiller.

It is to be used like a fan, and I had super low expectations based on the reviews; this thing, blows me away. I'm a texan and I'm used to hot, humid environment; but I end up using this in my bedroom at night instead of running my AC now bc IT WORKS THAT WELL! As long as it is pointing towards me within at 5 foot radius, it works super well. I hook it up to a USB cable when I camp and a battery, and its legit so amazing.

   I love this little air cooler/swamp cooler. It is perfect for my bedroom and a good value for the money. It doesn't get "ice cold" but it does get cold and it keeps my little space cooler. This was a Vine purchase and I like it so well I am going to get another one for my daughter's room. I have read people complaining about the sound, and it isn't soundless by any means but it isn't loud. For me it is just the right amount of white noise that I need to sleep. I also like that it has different LED light changing colors that you can use.

   Personally I love mine and it actually made me cold last night (I bought it for by my bed for the really hot nights). Very well designed and easy to maintain. Just as I said, do not expect this to cool an entire room, the device isn't meant to do that. As I stated, its to be pointed at you, in close proximity, and filled with water, optimally the cartridge presoaked and frozen, put together and you turn it on to help best the heat and take the edge off. Think if it as a step up from just a tiny desk fan. Very good product though! Be warned, I do live on a humid environment and while this works very well, these are meant to be used on dryer climates. Just Google evaporative air coolers for more info on how they work and such,

   When I opened the box I thought it had dust on it, and that it was either used or hadn't been stored in the box it was shipped in, but it was just the filter fabric being low quality and "stringy", idk how else to describe it. It feels like soft felt whereas the namebrand felt stiffer. I don't know how well it will hold up since it didn't finally arrive until after the worst of summer was over and I don't need to use it anymore, but it does at least fit in the unit.
