I love this product. There were so many similar choice I bought 2 from different companies. This product was definitely the superior of the two. The ' Ankway - Cute Solar Powered Bird Bath pump' comes with a variety of nozzles, suction cups on the bottom of the pump to hold it in position and an extra larger suction cup attachment. I also bought the Vic Tsing HO46 pump. It comes with the solar panel, pump and one nozzle. It doesn't have any suction cups. I had to place a rock in my birdbath to hold it in one spot. When it floats around spraying water it scares the birds so it needs to be fixed in a predictable spot. I considered returning it but performance is similar. This pump is definitely the better buy!

I bought this for my birdbath which is the bowl is 2 feet wide and 3" deep. I can't use any of the sprays at the water flies outside the birdbath and by the end of the day the water is all gone. The pump is very powerful and shoots the water up so high that if there is the slightest breeze the water never returns to the bowl. I have resigned myself to using no sprayers at all and that creates just a nice bubbling effect which is great and I'm finding the birds like it too. I would recommend this product but the buyers need to know the sprays really don't work in some birdbaths. There are birdbaths out there that our wider and deeper and that may be a better solution for the sprays.

Took a few days before it settled down and ran with no problems, but has been great since. At first, it was making some funny noises and the pump seemed to be struggling. I had to take it out of the water and reposition it several times, holding it tightly to the bottom of the birdbath. The fountain spray that came on it shoots the water up about a foot, and it kept emptying the birdbath. Once I unscrewed the spray attachment, I got a nice low fat bubbler of water, which is exactly what I wanted. I've only had this for a week, but at this point am extremely happy with it. It comes on with no problem whenever the sun is full on it.

Consider loosely corralling the fountain base with rocks or something else simple under the water to limit its movement around the birdbath in order to reduce the amount of water that is sprayed outside the basin by the fountain. Otherwise, the water level in a regular birdbath can be reduced in an hour or less so that the fountain touches the bottom of the birdbath. The fountain then continues to pump when no water is available. Not good for the fountain pump. I’m trying to build a simple gravity feed water supply from a hidden nearby water bottle to help keep the birdbath full for extended periods. All elements work well. Multiple nozzles included.

These Ankway Solar Bath Fountain Pumps, I bought two, work very well in my 30 X 60 natural pond. My ornamental fish love to swim through the spray, and even when the sun is behind a cloud they shoot a spray every few seconds. The only problem I had, was that I needed to anchor them in my pond as a stream runs through and washes them into the sides. I had to glue a little eye onto the bottom of the fountains to put a fishing line through and anchor weights. So far all is working. I've had them working for a month now, and have not had to clean them, even after all the incredible rainy storms we've had, so I am well satisfied. You've produced a grand product.

Mine was already assembled, but the drawing for how-to was good enough if I had to assemble, I easily could. It looks like the photo, underneath being the pump already attached, with 3 small suction cups to hold it in place in the bird bath. It comes with several options for spray patterns, as well as parts/instructions for deeper or larger or shallow bird baths. It was also charged - I literally took it out of the box, put it in my bird bath and it was working perfectly. At a shallow amount of water the fountain spray was thin and high shooting; the more water I added the spray became more subdued, ending up a fatter, lower bubbling which sounds quite calming.

Bought 3 of these in the winter. When danger of freezing was remote I set one out today in the birdbath on a dark grey day. As I carried it out it began making a whirring noise like it was already working? Placed it in the filled birdbath and water sprayed from the top! After reading all the reviews I was not expecting this to happen! Looked out the window and it was sprinkling rain but the the solar fountain in the birdbath was still working. I am pleased with my purchase and hoping the other two work as well as this one. Followed advice of others and made sure to remove the piece of plastic that covers the solar surface.

I put this fountain pump in my bird bath. In the winter, I got an intermittent fountain with the water going up about 2 inches. Now that it is summer with full sun, the water is spouting steady at 1-2 feet. This fountain is very nice to aerate the water and provide some interest. It does only work during the day when it has sunlight. It does need to be cleaned regularly. I now clean it every time I clean the birdbath to prevent algae and mineral build up. The three different heads are nice, and can be used to fit the desired look for the spray.

I decided to try this in my backyard this summer just to add a bit of a water feature to the landscape. I took a pot without a drain hole and filled it with water then floated the pump in the pot. Yes it has to have full sun on the whole surface of the disc, but it is so efficient in those conditions I don't use any of the spray nozzles included as the water would fly out of the pot. Birds perch on the side to get drinks, and I do refill the pot periodically due to water evaporation. We LOVE it so much I immediately ordered two more to share with friends.

This works well right out of the box. It includes multiple spray heads so you can find one you'll enjoy. The moment it hits even indirect sunlight, it started running as I was carrying it out to the birdbath earlier today, even though it was shady where I was. In the shade the water will not spray as well, but will it will still bubble away, then in full sun it sprays beautifully. Once I find a way to keep it in the center of the birdbath it will be even nicer, but I could definitely see this also free-floating in a pond.
