This is no big deal, and does not take away from its beauty. It would be nice if they included a basic low watt bulb to get you started. Overall, great looking conversation peace!

   Wow this is absolutely awesome piece! I bought as an anniversary gift for my husband who likes industrial/steampunk designs. This is just the perfect combination of styles. It's heavy and well built and perfect for his desk. The only thing to mention is there's no felt or cork on the bottom so I'll be adding myself so furniture doesn't get scratched. Doesn't affect my rating one bit. I especially love this is made from recycled metal parts and MADE IN THE USA. I'll be shopping from Savage Metal again!

   When I opened the packaging and saw this lamp in person, my grin was ear-to-ear! I am so pleased with this purchase. This is a heavy weight lamp that feels as sturdy as a EmmmmmE. Army tank!    This is such a fun little lamp! It is USA made (Texas) and is meticulously made. All the parts are upcycled piping and electrical components; a gear, a bearing, pipe and pipe elbows, and an electrical switch. It adds charm to wherever you decide to put it. One thing to note, at least from my experience: the Edison lightbulbs give off quite a bit of heat so be careful when touching the lamp grill encircling the bulb. I've also found that a 40W bulb best allows you to see the filament as there is no shade for the lamp. And, it's very heavy so it's unlikely to get knocked over accidently. You'll love it if you like this kind of thing!

   This is a beautiful piece of functional art and is a great finishing touch to my therapy office! If there were some way to transform that awesome moving bearing at the base into a dimmer control switch, that would be incredible! Not sure how or if that is possible though. The piece is heavy duty and very solid. I'm very happy with this purchase!

   Wow- this really exceeded my expectations! It's beautiful, study, and functional. It adds a lot of character to my home office. Packaged extremely well and protective. I was worried that it would be slightly too big, but it's the perfect size for my desk. Although its smooth on the bottom, I added a few thin adhesive foam pads to the base, just to make sure that it doesn't scratch my wood desk if moved. My only suggestion would be to have a version with a dimmer. Thinking about buying another one....

   Awesome lamp. This is a high quality, heavy duty piece that fits well on my bar. I like the real pipe and gear construction with the functional switch located up front near the base. It was wrapped and packed to withstand shipping. I also liked the homemade tag made by the craftsman and attached to the lamp with twine, just a small detail but it added to the industrial look of the lamp. IEEm buying another one just because it is crafted so well.
