I was a little worried after reading some reviews but totally relieved that this works so well and is completely plug-and-play. My iMac went out and I wanted the option of using my MacBook Pro, but with the convenience of a larger screen and a more ergonomic keyboard of my iMac. I started out ordering the Henge Dock, but it turned out that they didn't have the model for my (newer) MacBook and, after reviewing the setup instructions, it was WAY more complicated than I wanted to deal with. I investigated this one and ordered it with fingers crossed. I unboxed it and had it operational within just a few minutes of plugging in the wires. The HDMI display was plug-and-play and it took nothing other than plugging in the cord and I was up and running. The fit and finish is excellent and it plugs in and hold firmly into my MacBook USB-C ports. You have to firmly pull it out when removing, super snug but still relatively easy to disconnect. This is what I'll get my kids for Christmas!

Even have a blue ray drive so I can burn movies and also my iPhone 7 is connected. It gets slightly warm and that's he only negative I have.
