   I usually hate to buy special use tools, but this one made trimming plastic edge laminate a breeze! Only needs a little sanding block to make the edge of shelving to look professional. I can see where some of the other comments about real wood edging and going against the grain could be an issue however.

   I made a set of bookshelves out of alder plywood, and used this trimmer to cut down the vinyl siding I put on it. It was great! I spent the first day trying to cut the pieces by hand, and it worked, but it was slow and uneven. Ordered this, came soon, and it took me no time at all to trim everything up perfectly.    I got this for my first edge banding project and it made the job so easy! It was actually a little thrill to see the curls of vaneer peeling start to pile up on the floor. One tip is to be sure to take a look at the grain and don't cut against it. Also, I used only one half of the cutter to touch up a couple rough spots. When I was done trimming i ran a medium foam sanding block down the edge twice to clean up any glue.

   I had a similar tool that I just never was able to get to work correctly. It was square and would gouge my work piece if I wasn't careful. Fortunately I misplaced it and so I had to buy a replacement. This one is a dream to use. It fits in your hand very comfortably and quickly trims your work piece flawlessly and I didn't have one gouge even going around the curved edges of the gun cabinet I have uploaded pictures of. Highly recommend this product!

   Much better than the single-edge trimmer by the other brand. A theft left me missing a lot of tools. I thought I had geared up to make some simple cabinets but at the last minute realized my edging trimmer was among the missing. Local stores only carried the single edge trimmer (the yellow one) so I gave it a try. Doing one side at a time wasn't a big deal but it just doesn't trim a flush as the Fastcap brand, even going back and forth over it several times.

   I'm a beginner with veneer banding. I needed to trim excess. After hours with a razor blade and sander I couldn't take anymore of the tediousness. I purchased thi and was able to complete my project perfectly and rapidly without "wavy" or "gouged" edges. Some notes to users: Go slow and if it feels like it is fighting the tool don't continue to push or you may get tear out. I took the trimmer off and sanded a bit and then tried to retrim and typically this helped. Also if your veneer is thick bands you may want to take the tool apart (Comes apart/goes together by pulling/pushing) to go only in the direction of grain.
