I had the prior version, and didn't have an issue with it, but wanted the version without the module in between the two ear pieces. I had no issues loading music or charging it. These are bigger than the older version, and also are more of a permanent fixture on the goggles vs. the spring clips on the older one - i.e. the old ones I took off my goggles with each use, these I keep on because they're much more challenging to put on the goggle strap. But this hasn't been an issue. They hold firmly to my head, and produce good sound, at least as good as my older version. I haven't quite gotten used to the controls, but they're not bad. I recommend wearing earplugs to get better sound quality. I enjoy my workouts much more with music playing, I'm a big fan of these.

I have owned every generation of finis players and many other brands, being a lifetime swimmer - 60+ years in water. This model works and works great. I wear them behind my ears under a bathing cap to get the best sound. As they don't go in the ear, you can still hear what people say to you and they are not going to stop working just because water gets in - they work when they and you are wet. Easy to upload, charge and you can easily adjust volume and skip tracks while swimming. Sound quality is not like a dry-land mp3 but it is decent with good strong volume. Mainly you can even swim hard, flip turns - no problem. The one swim mp3 that really works and gives you the freedom to do what you want in water.

These head-phonish things really work for swimming laps. Don't get these if you are looking for amazing sound quality or pumping base. However, once you get underwater, the bone conduction sound improves dramatically. They hooked on to my googles perfectly, sit on my temples so I can use my swimming earplugs. It is a great setup for lap after lap of podcasts or whatever you can load on the MP3 player which was super easy on my Mac. Just drag and drop. The controls took some getting used to... the volume and next track are on the same button, which was a little frustrating at first. However, that is my only complaint and not enough to take away the five-star rating. Great job Finis. I am not sending these back :)

I lap swim 4X a week and was getting pretty bored with my own thoughts. I bought Finis, and now my 45 minute sessions fly by. It easily attaches to goggles and the sound when you are in the water is very clear. It does take some getting used to as you cannot see the controls (of course) once you have them on your head but that just takes practice. I highly recommend these for anyone who is tired of their own thoughts while swimming. Podcasts and books can also be downloaded and that's next on my list. Battery seems very adequate. I recharge them about once a week. They seems very sturdy.

I swim laps. 2,000 yard a day, 5 days a week. I have been swimming laps for more than 50 years. I have tried earphones with poor results. With each stroke water flows in or out of my ears and earphones work well in only one status. They also fall out and then I gotta stop. The finis units are improved by using earplugs for isolation and a fresh water rinse after use. The sound is not as good as my AirPods but it is head and shoulders above anything else I have tried for lap swimming. Recharge weekly. Plenty of storage, 200+ songs on mine. It passes the time quite well.

The bone-conduction method of sound transmission works better than in-ear waterproof speakers. I tried one of those and it didn't work well at all. This unit is sealed, with a unique USB connector (don't lose the special charger cable!) and it has lots of memory. I charge it once a week and could probably make it two weeks and it would be fine. You can use it with any goggles as long as the strap is not really wide, like a diving mask might be. I position the pads on the temple right near my ears and I'm real happy with the sound.

I've had these for a few months and I have not encountered any issues with it - charges well and plays music. Makes swimming so much fun and really encourages me to push hard. I bought these after my failed attempt at trying mp3 that depended on headphones - the headphones broke down quickly and would not stay in my ears, such a waste of money. But these are so easy to use, no need to stick something into your ear, the hardware works really well even after daily use for months. Could not be happier.

Ok, even if these died every couple months and I had to buy new ones, I totally would. (not that I think they will as long as you rinse the chlorine off after you swim - just take in the shower with you assuming you actually shower...). Anyhow, I am swimming MUCH more energetically listening to my old MP3 collection than I was without anything. Also, I am swimming for a longer time to boot. Super happy and look forward to my workouts much more now.

This is the third generation of Finis mp3 players i have owned over the years. i use it to listen to podcasts downloaded with itunes. i raise the volume of the files to 95db using a little program called mp3gain. I hope this one will last as many years as my previous one (eventually the battery died). so far so good. but reading the reviews about the quality problems they seem to be having makes me anxious.

I'm not a technical person so it took me awhile to figure out how to change my iTunes to mp3 files. Once I figured it out it was fairly easy. For under 80 bucks, this is simple and Sound is decent . Do use earplugs, they will improve the sound quality. This clips nicely to my google straps and you don't really have to fidget with it at all. Great to motivate and break up the boredom of lap swimming.
