Unlike some reviews I've seen, this device paired with my iPhone within seconds. I was also able to update the firmware quickly by connecting to the device via Wi-Fi. Once paired, it only takes less than 30 seconds to pair again each time you start the vehicle. Something to be aware of is having to reorganize your CarPlay icons on the screen. This will be a separate device under the CarPlay settings. I can only see one issue down the road and that is the consistency of firmware updates as this device ages. I guess only time will tell. Overall, I highly recommend this device for anyone looking to unplug.

I have had this for a week and it worked almost perfectly. I said almost because it did not connect once. I just hope this doesn't happen often. Before using this, I though it best to setup a wired Apple CarPlay play experience first, and then transition to this wireless device. For whatever reason (bad cable?) the wired setup failed. As soon as I plugged this wireless unit into my car, my phone immediately connected to it and CarPlay was engaged. Flawless connections ever since. This works perfectly in my 2021 Tacoma. Setup was easy. Loading takes a little time (seconds) but connects every time I start my truck. The touch screen works, steering wheel buttons work, and the apps running are not delayed. Sound quality is the same as when wired using the USB cable. I purchased a 90 degree USB extension and was able to hide the wiring tucking this unit under the driver's side center console. I should have bought this earlier. I haven't had to use Tech Support.
