I bought this to hold jackets as needed and when it is not in use, it folds flat and takes up zero room while looking like art. Simple design and simple function. I bought a slim shoe storage cabinet for outside the laundry room door and it works just as well as a mudroom bench would even though I don't have the space for an all in one.
