    Honestly the most time consuming part of this product is making the dough and the various fillings. I usually set aside a day to make multiple savory and sweet fillings as well as the dough. I store the completed "empanadas" 4 to a snack size ziplock to freeze. I make various sauces and freeze them in ice cube trays so when I need a meal/snack or something to tide me over when I'm getting chemo I can just reach in the freezer and everything I need is there. All I need is to steam or fry it. It's so much better than hand shaping and crimping.

    I love these a lot but there is a learning curve. I use the bottom to cut the size I want - does a beautiful job. I found that pressing the edge of the dough into the "teeth" before filling helps a lot, and I brush the "teeth with a little oil to prevent sticking. It doesn't take a lot of pressure to get the seal. I have had a problem with the bottom edge of my dough splitting. I push it back together with my fingers but, needless to say, I don't end up with the picture perfect empanada. These clean up easily but I treat them gently. My set doesn't have the turquoise press. Mine are red, white, and blue.

    Not a bad little product. I bought these to make empanadas and they worked great. I used the Goya disc for this and used the largest (red) one to make them. I followed the instructions and put a little flower around the edge/teeth. I put the disc on and put water around the edge of the disc to help them seal. Added meat to the center and it worked perfect every time. The dough did not stick to the press and the dough crimped perfectly. Very easy to use. I can't wait to make other things like turnovers and such.

    Used to have to cut the crust with a glass dish and then fold it with a spatula, then seal w/ fork tip when filled. These do it all. Hate to admit...I didn't notice they had a cutting circle on the back (duh...), so use that, and they fit in the folder on the other side and seal when filled. Just don't OVER-fill, and these work great for little fruit pies. I haven't made meat/potato pies yet, but they'll work just as good.
