He played with it over and over for a while.. now he plays with it every now and then, but it's kind of one of those toys/games that once you've mastered it, it's kind of done. There's only one configuration. It would be fun for longer if you could somehow change the configurations to have a few different routes, so there's more to "figure out". He still likes it.
