   ili is an AWESOME translator! I bought one for my trip to Peru last week because I can only speak and understand very limited Spanish, and I wanted to use a translation tool that was faster and more convenient than Google Translate. Ili was so easy to use to ask for directions to nearby restaurants and shops, and also to direct taxi drivers to take me to destinations further away from my hotel. I also used ili to haggle with local vendors for souvenirs! Ili was able to translate my phrases VERY quickly--it felt like I was traveling with a mini local Peruvian translator. Overall, ili made my solo trip to Peru incredibly convenient. I am usually hesitant to take solo trips to countries where I can barely speak and understand the language, but ili gives me the confidence to take more trips to Spanish speaking countries. I'm also planning on going to Japan next year, and will definitely bring ili along. Would highly recommend! :)

   I bought ili because I have plans for traveling to South America this winter and China next year. First of all, you should know it is a one-way translator( translating from English to Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish.) I am so surprised that this product is smaller than I expected and pretty light. I tried to use Chinese and Spanish translations by ili to my friends who are Chinese native speakers and they said this translation works well as locals can undersrtand easily! It will be useful if you do not know a country language as well. I would recommend you to get one if you are planning to travel.

Or if I need just a word or two, I use both earbuds and speak one language listening to the translation in my other ear, and reading it on my phone. The options with this one are endless for self-study and language acquisition.

It was handy and it translates super quickly. I think the locals also love it and were amazed when we used it with them.We played this game where my husband would use his phone to translate besides me and I always beat him! Great for people who travel for work, like myself, or those that are vacationing in a Spanish, Chinese, or Japanese speaking country.This little translator helped me get from point a-b in South America and navigate Tokyo's INSANE metro system with ease!    Really excellent customer service and increasing accuracy as you learn to avoid certain words and adopt more appropriate words. The most important feature for me is the off-line package so translation is always available regardless of the availability of wi-fi. I have found increasing effectiveness comes from using the product as you quickly learn language that is and is not effectively translated. People seem to enjoy receiving an earphone for simultaneous translation and are generally astounded at the results. In my opinion real value for money.

   I recently started dating a Costa Rican lady who has limited English skills. Coupled with my limited Spanish skills, these translating earbuds were a lifesaver. With these, we can go to dinner, and have a conversation, we sat outside on my patio and talked for well over two hours, and though the translation is not absolutely perfect, the overall translation quality, I would categorize is very good. Also, the translation is only as good as the grammar, which is being spoken into them. I find that using grammatically, correct, concise sentences, in both languages, produces the best results. Overall, very happy!
