It can leave splinters and knowing toddlers chew on stuff and put stuff in their mouth is why itâ€™s a choking hazard. they are smaller than expected but maybe I missed that in the description . Not recommended for kids under 4 or 5. My son is 1. Everything went straight in his mouth and he hit the xylophone a few times. For kids who know better and are able to understand a toy better than just hand to mouth right away. But itâ€™s cute.
